How do you make a country feel alternative?

The brief from the Wales Tourist Board was to portray Wales as the alternative, creative British destination; I'd always loved the legendary beat poet Ken Nordine’s work, and so I wrote a series of radio ads to reflect the alternative nature of Wales with his voice in mind - I never imagined I'd end up recording them with him and his band in a recording studio in his home in Chicago.
